        1. Introduction:
        The course will go over more useful structures and further build up the vocabulary through reading original Chinese texts and carrying out various other activities. Specific exercises include listening comprehension, reading, class discussion, translation, composition. After-class activities include watching movies and web browsing.

       Note: Every absence after the first 3 will reduce the final grade by one point and more than 10 absences for any reason will automatically lead to an "F" grade for the course. No late homework will be credited. Two individual oral examinations will be held with the instructor, one for Week 6 (Feb 26-Mar 2), and the other for Week 12 (Apr 9-13).
