        1. Introduction:
The course is aimed at enhancing students' mastery of basic Chinese vocabulary and
grammatical structures and enabling them to be able to carry on daily conversations in
Chinese, read authentic materials, and write about themselves and various social issues.
During the course, we will go over more useful structures and further build up the
vocabulary through reading near-original Chinese texts and carrying out various other
activities including class discussion, presentation, writing and translation assignments, movie
viewing and questions, and web surfing and reports.

        2. Text:

Tsui.

one for Week 6 (Oct 1-5), and the other for Week 12 (Nov 12-16).
The audio tapes are reserved in the Language Lab and you can either listen in the lab
